Blog Move

Hello! I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely month so far. You probably already guessed it from the title: this blog is moving! I decided to merge my website (which was, until now, dedicated to my work) with my blog, which means The Midnight Blog will soon be unavailable (and redirect to my new blog/website). It’s a little sad, but very exciting at the same time!

I decided to make that switch for several reasons. First, the name of the blog no longer represented me and the content, which is actually what started that whole process. Then, there’s the matter of blogging entirely: I wrote about this in the past, but the more time goes by, the less I am drawn to writing on my blog. I already spend my days writing and reading and editing, both in English and in French, and at the end of the day my head is exploding. There’s also social media: I joined Instagram only last year and, since then, it kinda has become another blog of some sorts (I now understand why so many people ended up closing their blog because of this!). Instagram is where I share my daily life, so why “repeat” the same things somewhere else?

I also wanted to “gather” everything in one place and simplify my online presence/accounts. I was getting a bit tired of being all over the place with different usernames, domains and accounts, so I thought I would tackle it once and for all and do a digital spring cleaning of some sorts.

Last but not least, I was always adamant that my blog/online life should be separate from my real life (hiding my real name, not sharing my blog with people I know). However as time went by I have grown frustrated and kind of uncomfortable with this idea, as though I was “hiding” something. I know it may sound silly, but that’s genuinely how I was feeling! Although this blog has been a big part of my life these past few years, most people I know in real life don’t know I’m a blogger. They don’t know that I’m on Instagram or on Twitter. Now, they probably will.

I already transferred a selection of posts to the new website, even though I still have things to work on. I will continue blogging, just not in the same way. I guess posts will be more visual and less personal. I will also keep on posting videos on YouTube and photos on Instagram, no changes there!

If you want to follow my adventures (and there should me some good ones if we do move to CANADA!):

You can follow my “new-but-not-really” blog on Bloglovin’.
I am still on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Goodreads.

Thank you to all of you for sticking with me! I know this is not goodbye (we all interact more on social media than on this blog anyway!), but it is the end of The Midnight Blog, which is always bittersweet. as the Von Trapp family would say: So looong, fareweeell, auf wiedersehen, goodbyyyye”.

Midnight Glimpse | 20

This just came in the mail! The last book of the cutest series I’ve ever translated.

The sun is finally shining in the living room (after six months of darkness). The plants are very happy.

I am loving my new smoothie jar and stainless steel straw! #zerowaste

The clearance sale has been a success and everything is almost sold out at The Midnight Shop.

I have been making pea and mint soup every week lately. It’s so simple and delicious!

I made a friend while running the other day. There are baby bunnies everywhere.

I hope you’re all well and I wish you all a very happy start of may!
